The Power of Deciding and Manifesting Dreams
When we decide something and it comes from a place of true alignment with who we are, we have the power to move mountains. The universe responds to the energy of true commitment, catapulting us toward our dreams with astonishing speed. Yet, as we navigate the events that unfold based on our decisions, it's not just fear of failure that can hold us back, but also the fear of succeeding. The act of deciding is not just a choice; it's a catalyst for a cascade of profound energetic shifts that are not to be underestimated.
This is why many find it challenging to decide; it's not solely the dread of stumbling but the fear of soaring that can be daunting.
When I embarked on my journey to teach adults with a fear of water how to swim, I encountered this force firsthand. Once I declared my aspiration to the world, I started scouting pools, from local YMCAs to hotel facilities, in search of the right fit. While each had potential, none were met with the resounding inner affirmation that said, "This is it!"
Coincidentally, during this time, I attended an executive leadership training at MIT Sloan, representing the company I worked for. In a fateful moment during the training's initial breakout session, I shared my passion for teaching swim to adults with a fear of the water, which led to a conversation with a fellow participant who happened to be the VP of Inpatient Rehab at Spaulding, a prestigious rehabilitation hospital in Charlestown, MA.
As we chatted, the universe unveiled its hand, offering me a remarkable opportunity. Spaulding's mission aligned seamlessly with my vision – the holistic care of individuals, encompassing their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Serendipitously, Spaulding also housed a warm-water therapy pool.
The pool is a sanctuary, heated to a soothing 96-98 degrees, accommodating our extended sessions with ease. Its design fostered accessibility and safety and the environment transcended mere functionality, giving off more of a spa vibe. And there, in this aquatic haven, my dream found a home.
The synergy of Spaulding's spirit and the pool's balance –salt, minerals, and light on chlorine – gives way to what I can only describe as healing waters. The privilege to teach within these nurturing currents is an honor I cherish. The universe's orchestration had bestowed upon me a sacred space to guide transformation.
In the future, I envision retreats on islands far from Boston. When I'm prepared to embrace the universe's offerings, I will decide, and let destiny handle the rest.
